Fastest-Growing States in the U.S.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the U.S. population to be 329 million as of 2020, a 0.35% increase compared to 2019. Between 2019 and 2020, here are the fastest-growing states:

Idaho: +2.1%
Driver: affordability, Boise’s tech sector, California proximity

Arizona: +1.8%
Driver: sunny weather, job market, affordability, entertainment options, California proximity

#3
Nevada: +1.5%
Driver: strong real estate industry, Las Vegas popularity, California proximity

Utah: +1.4%
Driver: a high birth rate; 62% of Utah residents are part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (formerly referred to as Mormon), who have an average of 3.4 children compared to 2.1 children among all U.S. adults

Texas: +1.3%
Driver: a high birth rate and migration increase; international migration exceeds domestic migration, specifically from China and India

Bonus: the states with the fastest-declining populations are West Virginia, Alaska, and Illinois.

Thanks for another great post, Danny! Really appreciate the work you put into collecting interesting and helpful facts. I wanted to call out a typo and suggest a correction. The typo is Morman should be corrected to Mormon. However, Mormon is a nickname that misrepresents members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it suggests we follow or even worship a person named Mormon.
