Topic Modeling
Analyzing vast amounts of data — for example, from social media posts, chats, and open-ended survey responses — is not an easy task for a human.
Luckily, we can turn to machine learning (ML) to help. Topic modeling is an unsupervised ML technique capable of scanning a set of documents and determining common themes or topics.
Example
Using Amazon Comprehend, you can scan 100,000 customer reviews of dog treats to identify popular topics mentioned by customers. A manufacturer may find that “smelly,” “great for training,” and “bite-sized” are the most commonly used phrases, informing them of how to improve the product for future customers.
