Parcels per person in the U.S.

While most of us saw an increase in online shopping during the pandemic, the Pitney Bowes Parcel Shipping Index helps us quantify the growth in parcel (aka package) volume.

U.S. parcel volume grew 37% year-over-year, reaching 20 billion, up from 15 billion in 2019. In 2020, there were an average of 61 parcels shipped per US person.

Between 2015 and 2020, U.S. parcel volume doubled from 10 billion to 20 billion.
