Retailers have to keep up with the constant demand for ‘new’ from customers. 69% of shoppers expect to see new merchandise whenever they visit a site or store. 75% of customers’ site search queries are brand new each month. Shoppers value freshness with their wallets, as 59% of the top 5% of products sold are new each month. Looking at the Pareto distribution, the top 21% of products generate 80% of a retailer’s revenue. The top 1% of products generate 22% of revenue!
