The dramatic headcount growth of select companies

Increase in employees in the past decade:

  1. Amazon: +1,400,000

  2. Starbucks: +234,000

  3. Walmart: +200,000

  4. Home Depot: +184,000

  5. UPS: +142,000

  6. Google: +119,000

  7. Apple: +94,000

  8. Microsoft: +91,000

  9. FedEx: +85,000

  10. Tesla: +70,000

  11. Facebook: +65,000

  12. Salesforce: +58,000

  13. Nike: +35,000

  14. Disney: +34,000

Amazon’s headcount grew by 1,400,000, compared to the other thirteen companies’ combined total of 1,411,000.

I would be curious to see the ratio of additional headcount to increased revenue and/or profit.
