Crypto popularity has skyrocketed in 2021, with 86% of Americans reporting that they have at least heard about it. 16% of U.S. adults have personally invested in, traded, or otherwise used cryptocurrencies.

Men are twice as likely to have participated in cryptocurrency trading as women are (22% versus 10%). These percentages jump to 43% and 19%, respectively, for Americans aged 19 to 29.
