Big, emotional moments bring teams together
Gwynne Shotwell is the President and COO of SpaceX. Speaking to students at Stanford, she recounted how emotional it was for her team to celebrate SpaceX’s first successful rocket launch.
“To future entrepreneurs: I think it is important to have big moments. As you develop your business, figure out the significant moments where you can bring your team together. It cures ills and helps morale. [For example,] SpaceX launches are an easy spectacle and emotional moment.
Bonus: the first successful SpaceX rocket launch was Falcon 1 on its fourth attempted launch in September 2008. There was only one additional launch of Falcon 1 before it was retired in favor of the Falcon 9 rocket.
