Billions have never used the internet

Over one-third of the world’s population has never used the internet. 

According to the UN’s International Telecommunication Union (ITU), 2.9 billion people do not have access to the internet. 

While global internet access increases annually, only 27% of people living in the least-developed countries have spent time online, compared to 90% in higher-income countries.
