Measuring Confidence

The researchers asked respondents to indicate their level of confidence in 20 U.S. institutions. On a scale of 1 (no confidence) to 5 (a great deal of confidence) respondents were asked “How much confidence do you have in the following institutions?”

  • Military 3.24

  • Amazon 3.12

  • Google 2.96

  • Local Police 2.95

  • Colleges and Universities 2.90

  • Non-profits 2.89

  • Banks 2.69

  • Major Companies 2.59

  • Facebook 2.28
