A User Manual for You
It can take time to learn how to best collaborate with team members. One approach is to write a 1-pager that describes how you work. Here are highlights from Zach Coelius’s “User Manual”:
I live in email and treat it like an instant message. Please don’t be offended by brevity and terse emails.
Email is also my to-do list. If we talk about something and you want me to do it please send me a reminder.
If you don’t hear back from me within a few days, feel free to bump the thread.
I quite dislike setting up a call or meeting to “chat” without an agenda.
If I am a jerk, do something dumb, please please please let me know. I often have no clue. Your feedback is priceless, and I love it.
Is it worthwhile for you to put together a “User Manual” to share with colleagues? Share your thoughts in the comments.
I love it, and just created mine for the office intranet Bio page!
