Re: October 4: The Densest Talent Hubs in the U.S.
Seattle has 8.6% tech talent density and San Francisco has 4.9%.
Note from Danny: This is revised from an earlier version to reflect an updated calculation for Seattle—moving it to the top spot above the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks to Narayana M., Sean M., and Vijay K. for writing in and making the correction suggestion!
I was working on this fact at midnight to get it ready for today and made a mistake in the figures (specifically, the tech talent column doesn’t match the cities from yesterday because of a sorting error). My mistake! I will be publishing on the topic next week with a deeper dive :)
Surprised Austin didn't make top 10. I found this recent study that may have used a different approach: https://www.cbre.com/insights/books/scoring-tech-talent-2022/03-which-are-the-top-ranked-tech-talent-markets
Hey Danny,
Thanks for sharing these facts every day – I really enjoy reading them. I noticed that yesterday’s fact showed Seattle with a tech talent number of 190K and today’s showed the Seattle tech talent number as 340K. Since this dramatically changes the rankings and tech density, I wanted to check which one was the correct number?
