I image it's because those of us over 30 have been hearing about climate change since we were kids, as well as our parents and grandparents. The fearmongering we've heard all our lives doesn't fit reality.
Don't get me wrong, we need to be responsible how we treat our world. Just make sure we aren't being hypocritical (using private jets for climate conferences, using other countries for oil resulting more pollution and no control over environmental standards there)
